Jorina Stamm’s indie collective Soft Loft have revealed their new track, ‘Dorm’. It’s a moving cut that wears its heart on its sleeve. The opening moments are understated, with tender acoustic guitars underpinning an emotive lead vocal that feels a bit like its being sung while sheltering from the rain. The texture is gradually added to until that final, waterlogged instrumental plays us out. They describe the track as being “about pulling through—it’s about stepping outside, even when it’s tough, and looking up to appreciate the beauty all around us. We wrote it in a rush in our little getaway in Ticino while it rained outside; when we finished, the sun came out.” The Modern Roses EP is out now. -Dan Peeke
